And it only gets worse

Every time we hear looming elections we literally go mad and I mean, 'full retard'. This is particularly true about our current ineffectual, block minded politicians who are literally fidgeting as we speak waiting to roam the country come 2022 insulting whoever is in their left and right battling for positions of steal.

For the rest of us, our madness will be justifiable if we indeed vote soberly; but as the past record has shown, we wont! Its almost like we cant.

A date with the devil

Soon we will hear horn speakers aloof lorries and pickups roaming aimlessly in and out the cities and villages playing annoying and deafening music.

Interestingly, one wonders where they get all these stony broke announcers who ride on pick up tracks and who have very obnoxious voices endorsing the next government milkmen who will milk them dry for the next five years with no compunction! And it gets worse!

We will also witness another seamless chain of posters on every tree and electric post in this country with photographic evidence of men and women who will literally eat our money and shamelessly call us ordinary Kenyans.

Ignorant voters

Voting is not merely an exercise of filling a seat or a position. It goes deeper than that. It is literally giving someone your account number to withdraw any amount; and then pray to God that they withdraw the right amount, spend where there is a dire need and bring back the change!

It is all based on trust. But do we really care? If we have the ability to understand this fact (of trust), and the so famous quid quo pro, we would frown upon voting someone just because they speak our dialect.

In my recent articles I have talked about Mtu Wetu Policy. I won't talk about it here because in every election since independence, we have showed the same perdurable self destructive behavior.

No wonder this country never changes! This is why we have a clean track record of inept politics, tainted reputation, and a Medal of Dishonor for being one of the most corrupt nations in Africa if not the entire world!

Former President Moi once said, "Siasa mbaya, Maisha mbaya", even though he did not think or care the fact that it applied to his regime as well.

It bothers the heck out of anyone that he realized the effects of corruption yet he and his sons, and his fellow partners in crime like Biwott, looted this country to its knees during his 24yrs of arbitrary rule.

This reminds us of the Kroll report that was never acted upon which was a report involving the looted billions and land grabbing that took place in Moi's twenty-four year rule.

A mad voter

If you see a policeman with a gun, you know there is security around. Likewise, If you see a mad man with the same gun, you automatically know it's a recipe for a major disaster!

Consequently, if you see an ignorant Kenyan with a vote in his hand, you know it's a recipe for disaster! He or she will vote with his head in the bin and cry later that politicians are thieves yet his vote, put together with the other ignorant votes is responsible for putting those thieves in power! And it only gets worse!

Stop the worship

First, we need to raise the standards higher for politicians. We need to stop clapping and ululating even when they speak utter nonsense! It's the most dirtiest and surreal thing to do! Its like dirty flirtation between a voter and politician for a very unsatisfying one night stand. Trust me, I am being very polite.

But most Kenyans will never listen or read anything that doesn't look like money! Most of you do not even read your doctor's note save the constitution or the redundant BBI!

We need to engage politicians in a real conversation based on what we need get done in our constituencies.

We need to give them a hard time in their rallies. But first, we need to stop this imbecile behavior of worshiping them like gods. They are thieves until proven otherwise by their accomplishments.

If they are not servants, then we are; and indeed we are - we praise them, sing and dance for them and they love it. Slave masters like their subjects scared and stupid. In fact, I have never seen a so useless lot during elections than I have seen Kenyans! Easy to manipulate, easy to violate!

Our ignorance have costed us billions of money in stolen mega funds enough to erect several state-of-the-art treatment facilities in every county.

If today, we don't change from this inglorious habit of worshipping these good for nothing politicians, a century will not be enough to undo the damage that is being caused at this very moment! And it only gets worse!

Voting wisely?

So what do we mean when we say, vote wisely? We cannot vote wisely if we have to choose from a bunch of ignorant rich and greedy tribal mascots who have no vision nor the skill. Get serious with your county leadership. Be quick to fire than to hire!

Don't be lured or be intimidated by the motorcade. Everything utilized is our tax money. They should be afraid of us not the other way around.

Arrest the leadership of your County and tell them to stop playing with the county! Enter the office and demand answers for unfulfilled promises. Don't burn, loot, assault or insult. Just show those guys that your county comes first before their own political moves and their accumulating nonsense!

People! You have the right to be served. The right to question your governor just as they have the right to vie for those seats. As a matter of fact, they volunteered to SERVE!

What is not understandable, is when and how we become their servants immediately after elections!

Ignorance and lack of civil knowledge contributes to such a devious exchange!

The problem is we are passive and ignorant and we don't know our constitution and our rights! We have the right to be served the way we want.

Demand! Demand!

Demand explanations of when will certain projects (according to their manifestos) will get done? By Who? How? Where? And in all thy demanding get a clear answer to the following question; What if the things they have Let them explain vividly how all the promised projects will be completed and how much are projected funds for those specific projects and where he or she is planning to get the funds. No more games! promised are not getting done? What do we do with them then? That conversation needs to be recorded for any reason or no reason!

Let them explain vividly how all the promised projects will be completed and how much are projected funds for those specific projects and where he or she is planning to get the funds. No more games!

If they don't have time for questions during campaigns or after, then you know who not to vote for or who to protest against until your County looks like a County not like some desert or some stone age pile of dirt and scam.

Do not let anyone tell you that this is not practical. It can be done, it happens in developed countries where citizens understand civics and how important it is to vote for the right person! They demand explanations!

Until we learn to be patriotic and responsible citizens, we will never be respected by any politician or anyone else for that matter. We have set a very low bar for them and they jump it recklessly and carelessly!

To vote wisely means to understand the integrity, judgement intelligence, dedication, leadership and vision of the politician standing in front of you.

If none of these are known about a politician and you end up voting him or her, don't look anywhere else, you are the reason your county looks like a pile of crap with horrible health centers, dusty and muddy roads, insecurity, dilapidated schools with rusted brown iron sheets built centuries ago, unemployed drunk youths, and zero or timid agricultural projects.

You will end up voting a guy who constructs a shillings two million toilet build next to his office that costed seventeen million, five police cars for his motorcade and ten security guards to protect his or her family from you and all is well paid for by your money! That's all you get for voting like a mad man with a machete. And it only gets worse!

Finally...

If they cannot explain in details what you want them do for you, let them hit-the-road. During campaigns, demand answers. If they cant answer, wait for the next contender of the same seat and ask the same questions. Do not praise or cheer! That's stupid! Cheer them after work has been done.

The reason we are never taken serious is because we are cheerful fools!

If we don't nail them before we vote them, they will nail us on the cross of poverty all day long and they will sip Champagne bought with our tax money while we can't get clean water to quench thirst.

If you don't take your County serious and act like a responsible citizen, you will complain bad politics, corruption, haphazard health centers, insecurity, unemployment etc. And you will complain and hate them until your 98th birthday. Time Is Now or IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE FROM NOW TO FOREVER!
